Skiing outside marked runs including powder, trees, and backcountry. Requires advanced skills and safety knowledge.

Essential Skills

Be comfortable on all groomed runs, ski variable conditions, handle steep terrain, have good stamina.

Safety Equipment

Avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel, airbag pack. Never ski alone. Check conditions daily.

Powder Technique

Equal weight on both skis, maintain speed, wider turns, lean back slightly, hands forward.
